How to Connect Your Swap Carrier Account in Warehance
If you're using Swap to purchase FedEx or UPS labels, you'll need to connect your Swap account to Warehance, then map that connection to the shipping methods or profiles that should use it.
1. Request Your API Credentials from Swap:
- Reach out to your Swap contact and ask for your credentials.
- Swap will generate these on their end and send you an API Key and a Store ID.
- Hold onto both, you'll need them in the next step.
2. Create the Carrier Connection:
- From the main dashboard, navigate to Shipments and select Carrier Connections.
- Click Create.
- Under partner integrations, choose Swap FedEx or Swap UPS, depending on which carrier you're connecting.
- Click Next.

3. Enter Your Account Details:
- Nickname: an internal label for your own reference. This is just for you, it won't be visible to Swap.
- API Key: the key Swap provided.
- Store ID: the store ID Swap provided.
- Click Connect to finish setting up the connection.

4. Map Your Swap Services to a Shipping Method or Profile:
- Go to Shipments and select either Shipping Methods or Shipping Profiles, depending on how your account is set up.
- Open the method or profile you want to use your Swap connection for.
- In the Carrier Mappings section, select your new Swap connection, then check each service that should be eligible for rate shopping (for example, Swap FedEx Ground or Swap UPS Expedited).
- Click Save Changes.
What's the difference between a Shipping Method and a Shipping Profile? A Shipping Method represents a shipping option that came in on an order, like "Standard" or "2-Day Express." A Shipping Profile is a reusable carrier configuration you set up once and link to any number of methods, so you don't have to configure carriers separately on each one. For more detail, see Shipping Profiles vs. Shipping Methods: How They Work and How to Upgrade.
Note: For international shipments through Swap, the rate will show as $0.00 in Warehance instead of a live rate. This is expected, your actual rate and billing are handled directly with Swap, and it doesn't affect your ability to purchase or print labels.
Note: If Swap returns a commercial invoice for an international shipment, Warehance stores a copy automatically, the same way it does for other carriers. Reach out to your onboarding contact if you need a copy.
