Warehance can automatically sync your inventory levels to each of your Shopify locations. Once configured, inventory updates in Warehance are pushed to Shopify in real time, so your storefront always reflects accurate stock.
Step 1: Open Your Shopify Store Settings
From the Warehance dashboard, navigate to Stores and click on your Shopify store. Then click on the Settings tab.
Step 2: Go to the Shopify Locations Tab
In the settings sidebar, click Shopify Locations. You will see a table listing all of the locations configured in your Shopify store, including any fulfillment service locations.
If no locations appear, sync your store first so Warehance can fetch your Shopify locations. An info message will guide you if locations are not yet available.
Step 3: Map Warehouses to Shopify Locations
For each Shopify location you want to sync inventory to:
- Click the Inventory dropdown on that location's row.
- Select one or more Warehance warehouses. Inventory from the selected warehouses will be summed and pushed to that Shopify location.
- When warehouses are selected, the location row will turn green and display an Active badge, confirming that inventory sync is enabled for that location.
To disable inventory sync for a specific location, simply remove all warehouses from the Inventory dropdown. The location will show an Inactive badge.
Step 4: Configure Order Import Behavior (Optional)
For each Shopify location, you can also set the Order Import behavior:
- Import Orders — Orders from this location are imported into Warehance (default for regular locations).
- Do Not Import — Orders from this location are not imported (default for fulfillment service locations).
- Import with Zero Quantity — Orders are imported but with zero quantity.
Step 5: Save Your Changes
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Once saved, Warehance will automatically begin syncing inventory to the configured Shopify locations.
Step 6: Verify Inventory in Shopify
After saving, inventory updates are pushed to Shopify automatically within a few minutes. Open your Shopify admin, navigate to a product, and check the inventory levels under the corresponding location to confirm the sync is working.
Inventory is calculated as: Available + Sell Ahead - Backordered - Marketplace Buffer. Make sure your product inventory in Warehance is accurate before enabling sync.
Disable Inventory Writing for New Products (Optional)
If you want to prevent Warehance from writing inventory to Shopify for newly created products:
- In your Shopify store settings, click the Inventory tab in the sidebar.
- Check the box labeled Disable Inventory Writing For New Products.
- Click Save Changes.
This setting only applies to new products. Existing products with inventory sync enabled will continue to sync.
Disable Inventory Sync for a Specific Product (Optional)
If you need to exclude a single product from inventory sync:
- Navigate to Products and open the product you want to exclude.
- Check the Disable inventory sync option in the product form.
- Save the product.
