How to Bulk Edit Locations

Bulk editing lets you change properties across multiple warehouse locations at once. Use it to update priority, location type, pickable/sellable flags, or tags without editing each location individually.

Step 1: Open the Locations Table

From the main navigation, go to Warehouses and select Locations.

Step 2: Select the Locations You Want to Update

  • Use the checkboxes on the left to select one or more locations.
  • You can select locations individually or use filters (warehouse, location type, etc.) to narrow the list, then select all rows on the current page.

Step 3: Open the Bulk Edit Modal

  • With locations selected, click Bulk Edit (or the bulk action in the table toolbar).
  • A modal opens titled Bulk Update Locations with the number of selected locations.

Step 4: Change the Fields You Want

Fill in only the fields you want to update. Any field you leave blank or unchanged will not be modified.

FieldTypeDescription
Location TypeDropdownThe type of location (e.g., Shelf, Bin, Tote, Putaway). Must match an existing location type in your organization.
PickableYes/NoWhether pickers can pick from this location. Pickable locations must be sellable.
SellableYes/NoWhether inventory here counts toward available stock. Pickable locations must be sellable.
Is ToteYes/NoWhether this is a tote. Totes cannot be pickable, sellable, or putaway.
Is PutawayYes/NoWhether this is a putaway location. Putaway locations cannot be pickable, sellable, or tote.
PriorityNumberPick priority (lower number = picked first). Used when suggesting where to pick from.
Replenishment PriorityNumberOrder in which locations are replenished from reserve.

Step 5: Apply the Update

  • Click Update to apply changes to all selected locations.
  • The modal closes and the table refreshes. Any locations that could not be updated may be reported separately.

Validation Rules

  • Pickable locations must be sellable. If you set a location to pickable, it must also be sellable.
  • Totes cannot be pickable, sellable, or putaway. If a location is a tote, those options are not valid.
  • Putaway locations cannot be pickable, sellable, or tote. Putaway locations have different rules.
If you only need to change a single location, use the table row actions (e.g., edit icon) instead of bulk edit.

Example: Set All Forward Pick Bins to Priority 1

  1. Filter the locations table to show only your forward pick bins (e.g., location type = Shelf).
  2. Select all rows on the page.
  3. Click Bulk Edit.
  4. Set Priority to 1.
  5. Leave other fields blank.
  6. Click Update.

Only the priority field is changed; all other properties stay the same.
